Wind

Buying a wind generator: there are some options. Very common are small generators designed for the use on vessels. Though, this page is not meant to motivate you to buy one but rather to build one yourself. Our ancestors were familiar with this, be it for pumping the water, grinding the wheat or something similar. They did many things manually. There are quite some designs and descriptions about how to make a vane, for example those by Hugh Piggott (http://www.scoraigwind.com/), who has simple designs showing how to make your own vane using manual tools only. On the other hand, my page presents how to make a wind generator by use of a CNC machine. In this way, the profile of the blades can be optimized, resulting in better performance.
